LITTLE FALLS, NY – Local voters are going to have another decision to make this coming November when it comes to who’s going to represent them in Congress.

Local business man Martin Babinec officially threw his hat into the race for the 22nd Congressional district on Monday.

He formally made the announcement at the Black Box Theater in Little Falls in front of his family and other supporters.

Babinec founded TriNet which brings in two billion dollars a year and has created more than 2500 jobs. He also co-founded StartFast Venture Accelerator which helps guide a group of startup companies each year in central New York.

Babinec is running as an independent.

“In 2016 we are experiencing an election cycle which is like no other we have seen before. If there was ever a time where the electorate is showing interest in non-traditional candidates, including upstate New York, this would be it” said Babinec.

With Babinec entering the race this brings the total number of candidates to 6.

On the Republican side you have Claudia Tenney, George Phillips, and Steve Wells.

On the Democratic side, Dave Gordon and Kim Myers.
