Host: Jim Aroune | WCNY
WCNY is committed to introducing you to the people who want to represent a key Congressional District – NY 22nd.
NY-22 runs right through the center part of our state from Broome, Tioga and Chenango counties to Cortland, Madison, Oneida and Oswego counties. Most have known it has the seat Richard Hannah has occupied for the last three terms. The Republican announced he will not seek reelection in the Fall.
While the GOP and Democrats vying for that seat prepare for June primaries, one candidate who wants to represent this part of New York is going to run as a new third-party like option – he is Martin Babinec – who may even create his own third party. He wants to create smart jobs – something Babinec will tell you he knows plenty about.
He grew up in Little Falls and then moved to Silicon Valley in 1988. There he founded TriNet, a cloud-based human resources company. We welcome Martin Babinec to the program.
1st Question: Why do you want to do this?
If I had to think of one reason above all else of why I’m running for office it is about the ability to keep more of our families together by holding on to more of our best and brightest talent so that they can create the companies and jobs that we need to restore our economic vitality. I know how to do that, and I’m trying to bring that forward by running for office.

It’s a great message and from the right type of political candidate, let’s help Martin reach 3,500 signatures!
We need representation from someone who is not owned by a political party. If you are tired of a broken system that spins it’s wheels and fights each other at every turn, then vote for someone that doesn’t belong to either party. Martin will fight for the common man and for our region. He brings intelligence and a very strong work ethic to the table. Something we are currently lacking in our current House of Represetatives. Time to think outside the box and send a message to Congress that the American people are fed up with their nonsense. Time to send an independent thinker to Congress who will bring jobs and boost our economy.
